Drop-in classes

Drop-in classes are a great way to pick + choose classes that work best for your schedule.  If you have a lot on the go or live in an area of Toronto where a recurring class isn’t available, this might be the best option for you. Drop-ins are also a great way to get a feel for Circle Time and test out whether the format is right for you + your child.

Semester Classes

Semesters are typically 6-8 weeks long. We’ll meet in the same place (whether that’s in-person or online), on the same day each week for the duration of the semester. This type of class allows you + your child to become familiar with the songs we sing at Circle Time. You’ll see how your child’s skills develop from start to finish and your child to gain a sense of security in the routine of class + develop confidence in knowing what comes next. This format also allows you + your child to connect with other families in the class and build community.

Class Types for Age Groups

Babies
(ages 0 - 14 months)

In baby classes, we focus on building the most fundamental skills. You and your child will remain seated for most of this class. We’ll revisit many of the same songs each week, as babies learn through repetition. You will have the opportunity to connect with other parents and caregivers in this class!

During these classes we will:

  • use baby signs, gesturing + rhyming to stimulate your child’s language + communication

  • use peek-a-boo and scarf play to explore cause + effect and turn-taking

  • bounce together to strengthen your baby’s muscles

  • foster your primary caregiver connection with your child

  • lay the foundation for empathy + recognition of emotions

Mid Kids
(ages 12 - 24 months)

In mid kid classes, we build on the fundamentals and start to expand our focus to include a mix of gross and fine motor development. Through repeated practice of familiar songs, your child’s memory and self-regulation skills will grow. Your child will also begin to connect and communicate with other children!

During these classes we will:

  • use sign language to promote language development

  • introduce the concept of numeracy through counting

  • move our bodies big, strengthening your child’s coordination while promoting active listening skills

  • develop empathy, recognition of emotions + learning how to express those emotions

  • build your child’s capacity for self-regulation

Big Kids
(ages 2 years + up)

As a big kid, your child will be familiar with many songs, boosting their confidence and sense of self. In this class, your child will be invited to use their imagination, participate in turn-taking + idea sharing and do a whole lot of moving. Your child will begin to make friends in this class!

During these classes we will:

  • learn language to assist in expressing + regulating emotions

  • learn longer songs, accompanied by sign language

  • work on developing empathy and practice perspective taking

  • dance, move, groove and shake our sillies out

  • hone children’s listening + attention regulation skills by asking them to respond to directions

  • build a sense of belonging through inclusive materials + songs

"Songs with Nash is a true highlight of the week for me and my three year old! Nash is incredibly gifted at engaging young children with her mix of songs, stories, and dancing. She always takes the time to make each and every kiddo feel special during circle time, and we love being a part of the amazing community she's created."

Zayn adds: “I love circle time with Nash! We do fun songs and different moves!"
